Romans 9:1-5

SUMMARY: Now that Paul has explained justification by faith apart from the Law for both Jew and Gentile, there are going to be some troubling questions for the readers of this letter, especially Jewish believers, concerning the place and the future of the nation of Israel. What about Israel? Has God given up on her? What about all the promises He made to the nation? Paul now deals with these questions in this third major section of the book of Romans. He introduces this section by reminding his readers of his deep grief and concern for his people, the nation of Israel.
